How to Implement a Simple, yet Effective, Social Media Conent Strategy

Learn how to create a straightforward and sustainable social media content strategy that works for your business.

I don’t know about you, but not repurposing my social media has felt like a rock in my shoe for a very long time.

It’s there.

You know you should do something about it.

But when it comes to repurposing, I didn’t know HOW to do it.

Everyone kept saying, “oh, it’s so easy, you just make this out of that, and then that out of that other thing”

But I just couldn’t get my head around it.

Until a while ago, when I figured out what my problem was.

I needed a system.

A simple system that can be broken down in to smaller bits and pieces.

So that’s what we designed and implemented!

We are now repurposing scripts that I write for various different communication channels.

And it all starts with an idea.

We log ALL our various content ideas in our project management tool Asana (this link takes you to Asana, I’m not an affiliate, just a huge fan).

Starting on Monday morning, I pick one of these ideas and start brain dumping everything I know about it - and that’s where the weekly process kicks off.

We’re following a very simple Content Creation Template that we’ve created, and it includes the following sub-headers:

👉 Script - this is where I brain dump EVERYTHING that comes to my mind that is connected to that week’s topic.

If you’re not a writer, but rather a talker - then start by noting down bullet points and record a video covering your idea. Then use one of the online services to transcribe it afterwards.

From that script we create the following pieces of content:

👉 Blog post - we need an SEO friendly title for the blog post, but we don’t rewrite the script in the Content Creation template to a separate blog post.

Instead, we copy and paste the brain dumpiing script text directly to my homepage and edit it there.

👉 LinkedIn - use the script to create posts, an article and a poll. I’m not a huge fan of polls, but apparently, they’re good for audience building.

👉 Instagram and Facebook Posts - here you can create various posts with different captions, and don’t forget to create posts that announce the publication of your new blog post!

When it comes to creating the captions for the various social media posts - they might be cut out of that longer script, but they might also me covering something else that is related to the original idea.

👉 Newsletter - yes, you are creating SO much valuable content that you share with everyone left and right on social media, and sometimes we tend to forget about those who are already in our inner circle.

So, don’t forget to make sure that you share what you know with them too.

Social Media Content Creation is probably one of the most time-intensive tasks that an online entrepreneur has.

We now follow this really simple social media creation template, and are able to create one week’s content in a much more efficient way.

By implementing an efficient process and making sure that you can repurpose your content you will not only save yourself loads of time, but you will also give your audience a better, and more focused experience.

If you’re ready to take your business to the next level and are committed to implementing what I teach, your next step should be to ensure your social media platforms are optimized for success.
